Wulf Outdoor Sports Congratulates Dustin Ellermann for Winning “Top Shot”
At a recent free shooting event sponsored by Savage Arms and Wulf Outdoor Sports, Dustin Ellermann spent the morning showing adults and kids proper shooting techniques, answering fans questions, and giving autographs - all the while keeping the secret that he was indeed the winner of the latest season of History Channel's "Top Shot."
The season finale, which aired Tuesday October 25th, ran the four remaining contestants through 2 rigorous challenges which left only remaining two contenders, Dustin and Mike Hughes, to face off in what may have been the most intense shooting course ever constructed. Dustin and Mike started the course by shuffling under a barbed-wire obstacle as explosions rocked them sending dirt and debris in their way. The first station they hit featured a revolver and 6 dot targets in the shape of a die. Mike took the lead nailing all 6 of his targets and racing first to the rock throwing station where the men had to break out 3 panes of glass with nothing more than rocks. Dustin caught and passed Mike breaking his 3 panes the fastest. The next station pitted the men against 15 glass jars with a shotgun. This is where Dustin broke away, sighting in and nailing his 15 targets at break neck pace. Dustin advanced to the log climb / sniper station leaving Mike struggling to finish his 15 glass jars. Dustin quickly nailed his two sniper shots and began crossing a rope to the next station where again explosions rocked under him sending debris into the air. Across the rope he grabbed the iron sighted rifle and perfectly nailed the two targets for that station. Down a set of stairs he reached the final station while Mike was still working his way through the glass jars - only 3 left. Dustin nailed the first two targets of the final station in just two shots leaving one target left. The gun in his hand is the same gun the show started with, the beginning becomes the end. After two missed shots and Mike finally finishing his station, Dustin nails the final shot. As the target explodes and his arms go up in final victory, Dustin a Christian church counselor spun and ran into the embrace of his wife.
With a mixture of confidence and humility Dustin accepted his victory and became this years History Channel's "Top Shot."
